This past Saturday Sigma had it's first (and hopefully annual!) Sister Scavenger Hunt planned by our phenomenal Herstory Chair Kelsey Davis. Kelsey constructed this activity with the ultimate goal of giving Sisters a chance to bond and learn more about each other.
After polling Sisters who could participate about who in the Sorority they wanted to get to know better, Kelsey paired up Sisters and gave them each a color for their team name (see teams below) On the day of the Scavenger Hunt we all met at the Gazebo in the Boston Common wearing our team colors. We then embarked on an extremely fun list of activities all over Boston, each with different point values that we earned if we accomplished them. For example we had tasks ranging from: "go to Forever 21 and pick out an outfit for your partner to try on" and "take a picture of your partner that you think represents them" to "hug a stranger" and "shake hands with a bearded man". When each team accomplished a task they had to take a picture and send it to Kelsey. When our three hour time limit expired we all met in the Public Gardens and Kelsey tallied our points and announced the winners.
This Scavenger Hunt was the best way to spend a Saturday afternoon. We ran around being silly and exploring the city of Boston with a Sister who we don't usually spend a significant amount of time with. We learned even more about the "herstories" of our Sisters. Plus, at the end of the day we all had tons of adorable pictures.
