Sigma was in full force at the greek open house! We managed to snap this picture (feat. Alpha Pi Theta) just before it got crazy crowded with all the interested new students. There was a great mix of freshman, transfers, and upperclassmen just looking for something to further their emerson experience. We are all looking forward to recruitment even more after this amazing event and meeting so many new people.

The sisters are getting geared up for the fall recruitment! The recruitment T-shirts look amazing and the org fair is full of students looking to get involved. The Sisters are also getting ready for our first official meeting and recruitment planning session. There are lots of ideas swirling about and I am sure this years rush will be absolutely incredible!
Relay for life is approaching! Sigma Pi Theta has our own team going, and we are on the look out for donations! Relay for life is a relay we will be running to help the fight against cancer. To donate to our team, simply go to Relayforlife.org and select "donate" under the "get involved" tab. Then you can select "donate to team" and you can search our team name "Sigma Pi Theta" to double check you have the right team, the team capitan should be listed as Anne Whitehead. Thanks for supporting us in the fight against cancer!
Jewelry sales have been going great! Everyone thinks it is absolutely gorgeous. We have even extended our tabling time over the next few days to try and sell even more. We have $300 already! We are so delighted to see random people walking the halls sporting the creation of the lovely ladies of Uganda. With this fundraiser being such a success, we're hoping to make it an anual event!
So many new faces at Cookies and Cocoa night! The sisters really enjoyed getting to know all the new people and reconnecting with returners from the info session. We played a question game and then had a dance party. The room was full of chatter and excitement. We all look forward to apples to apples night tomorrow!
The first recruitment event went great! We went around and asked our questions, favorite disney princess, favorite apple, etc to get to know everyone a little bit and from there the conversation exploded! Everyone circled around the room, touching base with everyone else and the energy in the room was fantastic. We're all looking forward to the next few recruitment events with this amazing group of girls!
The sisters are getting excited for the start of recruitment week spring 2012 tomorrow! Anne is probably going to pee herself from excitement as soon as all the potential new members arrive at the info session tomorrow. The sisters are getting ready to bake tomorrow in colonial so that we have home baked cookies for our Cookies and Coco night (Thanks to Devon and Anne who went and got the ingredients), but apples to apples is sure to win out as best recruitment event ever. WHO'S STOKED? WE'RE STOKED, THATS WHO!
The Ugandan jewelry has arrived! We're all getting stoked to sell it outside the dining hall. It is all so beautiful I think the sisters may buy out a fair amount of it before it even makes it to the tables. Don't fret though, there's plenty to go around, they sent us over 100 bracelets! Other items include headbands, earrings, and necklaces of all sorts. It's certainly going to be a fun couple of days. |
